A resolution might be in sight to the current face-off between the students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Osun and the management as the Ooni of Ife has stepped into the matter.

Oba Okunade Sijuade was represented by his deputy, High Chief Lowa, the Adimula of Ife, who addressed the protesting students and assured them that the matter would be resolved.

The Ooni condemned the sudden fee hike and promised to use his influence to persuade the management of OAU to reverse the fee.

High Chief Lowa said:

“The Ooni will do something and within the next 24 hours, the fee will be reversed.”

Students of the university embarked on a demonstration 2 days ago which led to a gridlock on one of the state’s major roads.
