Ogun State police foil ATM robbery

Nigeria’s Ogun state police command said that it foiled a robbery attempt on a commercial bank’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Sagamu on Sunday.

The Police public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, said that some armed men attempted to steal a huge amount from the ATM but were confronted by police acting on a tip-off.

“The police attacked the robbers with Armour Personnel Carrier (APC) and the robbers fled. We were able to recover N6.9 million and two methane gas cylinders from the robbers.

The PPRO also hinted that five suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident and for alleged conspiracy.

He said the command would not relent in its efforts to track down the suspects and also make the state safe for residents during the yuletide.
