Oh, baby! A ‘naming ceremony’ turns into a 200-person free-for-all brawl (MUGSHOTS)

A Stoughton, Mass. baby shower turned into a 200-person brawl Saturday night, resulting in four people being arrested, including a 14-year-old. The fight took place at Club Luis de Camoes on Porter Street and took 20 police officers almost an hour to subdue, StoughtonPatch reported.

“Oh my God. It was just nonstop. There would be a skirmish in this corner, we’d go over to address it, and then another one would start up somewhere else,” Sgt. Daniel McGowan, a first responder, told The Enterprise. “It was a nightmare.”

Police say uninvited guests sparked the brawl, ABC News reported.

According to The Enterprise, McGowan said he and other officers who arrived on the scene heard shouting from inside. They entered through a fire escape and were immediately met by a group of women fighting. Responding officers were reportedly assaulted, forcing one officer to use his stun gun on one individual.

“We just started to try to calm people down, break up a few fights, and slowly get people on their way,” McGowan said. “But no one would comply to any of our requests, not the oldest person, not the youngest person.” Partygoers were escorted out but would “turn around and come back in” to fight, McGowan said.

The unruly crowd’s size provoked Stoughton Officer Stephen Collins to call in backup. Officers from the Massachusetts State Police, the Norfolk County Sheriff’s office, and police from Canton, Easton, and Randolph responded, StoughtonPatch reported.

Patrick Cardoso Lopes, 24, Paulo Pires Depina, 24, Aderito Lopes Deandrade, 22, and a 14-year-old were arrested and each charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer, Stoughton Patch reported. Lopes, Deandrade, and the 14-year-old were also charged with obstruction of justice, a felony.
