Spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, was on Thursday, admitted at the emergency ward of the National Hospital, Abuja.
TheCable reports that an associate of Metuh disclosed that he puked multiple times while en route the federal high court, Abuja.
Metuh is being tried on a seven-count of criminal breach of trust and money laundering – charges levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
The associate was quoted to have said: “Metuh was rushed to hospital last night. It is serious.”
“He is managing high blood pressure, diabetes and arthritis. The doctor asked him to stay at hospital, but he refused because he wanted to appear in court today. He is just stubborn. He does not want his health to get in the way of his trial.”
“This morning he vomited in his car on our way to the court. It is sad. I cannot say all that he is going through, but it is bad. His health is deteriorating.”
This is the second time Olisa Metuh would be hospitalised in the past 3-weeks.
The PDP spokesperson was on Tuesday, April 26, rushed to the same hospital after falling off a swivel chair.
The incident was said to have taken place shortly after he came into the National Working Committee meeting hall at the party secretariat to witness the inauguration of the caretaker committees of the party in Borno and Kebbi states.
After falling, Metuh remained on the floor for about three minutes before he was assisted out of the hall by two policemen.
