Omawumi Megbele, powerhouse singer, says the harsh criticisms and attacks suffered by celebrities from the public, are often times negative and extreme.
The singer pleaded with fans and followers of celebrities to be “gentle” in their assumptions and judgement.
She took to her Instagram page, Friday, to state that negative criticisms often affects the celebrities at the receiving end.
“I was listening to the radio today and some people were talking about ‘celebrities’ and their way of life/conduct. There were so many negative reviews and some had so much venom(dare I say).”
“I just want to add my 2 pence abi kobo, being a someone who has experienced backlash either by my alleged conduct or totally made up balderdash.”
“Please be gentle in your assumptions/judgement. It affects some of the ‘celebrities’ that make it their life long goal to amuse, inspire or entertain you.”
