On #RubbinMinds Today: #DanaCrash, Unilag, and the state of the nation

by Stanley Azuakola

The stuff that has happened from the last time Rubbin Minds was on air till now is enough to make anyone wonder if it’s really just been a week. But it has.

So much happened in the past week which invariably means that once again, we have an exciting Rubbin Minds show to look forward to. The focus this Sunday is on the state of the union, particularly as regards two important issues –the renaming of the University of Lagos to the Moshood Abiola University (plus all the dust it’s raised,) and the unfortunate air mishap involving Dana Airline Flight 9J-922, which resulted in at least 160 deaths.

This week’s show will feature knowledgeable guests. They include Cheta Nwanze, a political and social analyst who works for Daily Times of Nigeria; Olumide Ohunayo, an aviation industry analyst, a certified member of IATA, ICAO, safety oversight committee of the Ministry of Aviation and head Research and Corporate at Zenith Travel Consult; and Oladimeji Ige, a paramedic with Red Cross Lagos Chapter, Nigeria, in charge of training new volunteers and interns on accidents and emergency services.

Shade Ladipo and Chude Jideonwo return as hosts.

Though it’s beginning to sound like a cliché, you really should not miss the show this week.
