There are reports that publishers of the online newspaper, Global Village Extra, has fired the reporter responsible for publishing a press release purportedly written by former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida chiding President Goodluck Jonathan on the activities on aides.

According to Global Village Extra, the story titled  “Your Aides Are Misleading You, IBB Warns Jonathan” was “particularly damaging — especially to the reporter and the Global Village Extra Organization”

According to the newspaper: “Longtime GVE reporter Ife Adekawo was fired after mistakenly reporting that the press statement used in the IBB story was signed by Prince Kassim Afegbua, whom he claimed in his report was IBB’s spokesperson.”

Earlier today, we reported that IBB made a statement through Kassim Afegbua, debunking the claims that he wrote any kind of letter to the presidency.
