Ooni of Ife’s body alleged to have arrived the royal palace from London

The corpse of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, has reportedly arrived his palace in Ile Ife, Premium Times reports.

According to PT, its sources disclosed that the body of the late monarch left London in a chartered air ambulance on Friday and was taken to the palace incognito.

The body, which is said to have arrived the palace on Saturday, is said to have been kept in a secluded section of the palace called Ilegbo, which is a sacred place where all Oonis communicate with their ancestors.

A source of Premium Times also revealed that: “Members of his family who were with him in London had to hurry back home to remove their personal effects because once his death is declared all their property will belong to the people. They won’t be able to take anything from the palace anymore.”
