How do you feel watching your 51-year-old David Moyes (the chosen one) turning Manchester United into a subject of ridicule and lampoon all over the world? Your son has persistently told a bear-faced lie that he will invest on world class players and that the club have the financial muscle to compete in the market.

Memories they say come when memories go. In 1986, you were appointed to manage a Manchester United team that is almost on the brink of collapse, staggering towards relegation and with its values on the verge of crumbling.

You were an unknown Scot to most football fans during your Aberdeen days and appointment as a Manchester United manager save for the likes of Real Madrid that knows you very well in European football especially when you thrashed them in 1983 to win your first european title.

You came at a time where everything is doomed, and the board gave you the mandate to revive their glaring and soon-to-be gone glories and reputation. You were charged to replicate what legendary boss; Matt Busby had done and if possible surmounts him.

You struggled at first, finishing 11th in your first season anyway. The fans, including the news-hunting media gave you a torrid time that you almost got sacked, thanks to the victory against Crystal Palace in the 1990 FA Cup which gave you your first trophy and save your damn ass from being kicked out mercilessly.

It took you years to build a structure and underwent a massive overhaul of the club in all ramifications. You underwent sleepless nights, enormous pressure from all and sundry, sacrificed your joy and happiness to veraciously serve Manchester United. You changed the entire training system; you changed the entire scouting network; you changed the nature of transfer in the club. In fact, you changed virtually everything and turned it to perfection.

In order to ensure the habitual nurturing of young talents and developing them into world class players, you took absolute control of the entire players: the academy, the reserves and of course the first team. You’ve had so many assistant coaches who’d persistently assisted you to build this entire milestone.

Having solidly laid your strong foundation, a foundation that seems to be beyond the reach of any element, your hardwork, accompanied with huge optimism later came to fruition. Your loyalty, faithfulness, sleepless nights later yielded dividends and bagged you as many as 38 trophies- a record that’s unprecedented and almost beyond the reach of any man in Britain. By virtue of that, you were tagged the most successful coach in Britain.

You were also knighted in 1999 by the Queen all as a result of the milestone you’ve achieved: an unprecedented treble.

You left us at a time we need you the most. Your retirement came to us as a surprise. It was hidden to us until the media hullabaloo started, then you opened up, just days to the season end. You told us on that faithful and memorable day that our job – the fans “is to be loyal to our new manager”. Something we’re still doing.

Sir, your son, David Moyes- the chosen one is trying to destroy and damage all that you’ve spent years of sleepless night, several moments of disappointment like the Barcelona UCL 2011 final as well as City’s last gasp winner against QPR to clinch the league.

Having chosen him to replace you, we knew you saw the potentials and the prospects in him. But we are appealing to you to question and call him to order. Tell him to view Manchester United as champions not mere mid table team. Tell him to inculcate in the players the courage, the passion, fighting spirit and aspirations as well as the hunger for silverware not just to finish 4th albeit difficult this season.

I know you have been enjoying the break since your retirement. You’re enjoying watching the game as a fan not a gaffer just as you said in your retirement speech. You following the team to every game -home and away inclusive is an indication of a question mark regarding your “Health” issue widely reported.

How do you feel watching your 51-year-old David Moyes (the chosen one) turning Manchester United into a subject of ridicule and lampoon all over the world? Your son has persistently told a bare-faced lie that he will invest on world class players and that the club have the financial muscle to compete in the market.

We can still recall your “no value in the market” talk, that not notwithstanding, you still went ahead to break the bank on Dimitar Berbatov, Robin Van Persie to mention but few. But under your son, Manchester United appears to be losing that stand. For instance, the club, under the chosen one has lost big name players in the transfer market like Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara and the embarrassing “imposters” issue of Ander Herrara.

Under the chosen one, secrets are no longer kept. Almost every aspect of the club is being widely known by the press. During your time, Sir, transfer news and bidding, injuries were completely kept to the fans. The first source of all Manchester United update is an official statement from the club.

Still counting, under the chosen one, Manchester United have been very lethargic. The killer instinct has varnished. Old Trafford is now a home for every Tom, Dick and Harry to come and conquer the great Manchester United. Clubs no longer have that usual fear and constant heart beat whenever they’re playing at Old Trafford. The team confidence has been lost. The fighting spirit has developed a sudden wing. The defence has been porous, conceding goals upon goals. In fact, quite a plethora of records have been broken at Old Trafford under the leadership of David Moyes the chosen one. These records however were not in United’s favour but the visiting teams.

With all these signs, it’s almost certain that your darling Manchester United will be ending the season trophyless.

With this abysmal and unusual play from the club under the guidance of your son – the chosen one, the club faces the risk of loosing the possiblity of attracting world class players. Cesc Fabregas turned us down which I’m sure under you, he would have signed. Baines refused to signed, Thiago Alcantara chose Bayern ahead of us and so many of them.

Taking a careful look at the substitution of the chosen one, it has cost the club a lot of points and serious damage. In most case, the chosen one would remove the best players on the pitch to put on others below par like Ashley “Diving” Young. For example, recently, in the 3-0 defeat against Liverpool at home, the chosen one removed Adan Januzaj who was one of our standout performers. The Belgian wizkid has been tormenting the Liverpool defence – with a dazzling and mesmerising display.

Sir, game by game, it is now conspicuously appearing that the chosen one is always making the wrong call. His selections and tactics has been woeful. He’d been unable to dictate and carefully select a constant starting line up. He’d combine several players on different occasions and with the season almost coming to an end, the chosen one doesn’t have a fix starting IX which is confounding!

Sir, with you being with the team at both home and away matches, it’s believed the enthusiasm and passion is still there. Your health is unquestionable. Kindly come out of your retirement and rescue the greatest club in England from the brink of collapse while the chosen one takes tutorials from you atleast for a season. We missed seeing you sitting gallantly in those red bricks. We missed your mind games. We missed those dramatic last 15 minutes especially at Old Trafford. We missed the comebacks. We missed the pointing of the wrist watch to intimidate opponents. We missed the constant punishment given to whoever misbehaves. We missed everything including the chewing gum. Under you, no player is above the club. Under you there isn’t preferentialies.

Thank you Sir. I am awaiting your kind response. Lest I forget, Evil Kagawa will be writing his own letter next week.
