Emma Nwaka, the Abia State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party yesterday denied the stories going the rounds that the former governor of the state, Orji Uzor Kalu, has been re-admitted into the party.
Nwaka, who spoke with reporters in Umuahia, the state capital, said it is also not true that Kalu had been re-registered by his Igbere Ward A in Bende Local council of the state.
Kalu was said to have rejoined the party and given a registration card with number, 9787945.
Nwaka denied this, explaining that the PDP executives of Kalu’s Igbere Wards A and B headed by Chika Emeri and Amaechi Ukoh resigned recently and handed over their wards membership registers to the party but Kalu’s name was not contained in the register.
Doubting the authenticity of the rumoured registration card, the PDP Chairman of Bende local council, Ihendu Eke, reportedly said PDP registration card serial number was currently below 95 as against the 9787945 card number purportedly issued to Kalu.
According to him, the ex-governor may have been re-registered by fake officials with fake register.
