The Pan-African music platform, Bozza partners The Drum

The Pan-African music platform, Bozza, has today announced that it has teamed up with The Drum, the UK’s most visited marketing news website, to help a select group of Sub-Saharan African artists to achieve just that, as part of the unique Do-It-Day, which will take place in London and New York on 2nd November.

The one-off project sees Bozza combine forces with Crowd-funder and a group of leading individuals and companies from the marketing industry to make this happen in just one day.  The plan is simple, incredibly ambitious and yet, with the best marketing brains, networks and technology resources available, infinitely possible – it going to happen like this this:

  • Artists and bands from across the continent need to register at http://artists.bozza.mobi/ and upload a music video on to Bozza by Tues 21st September 2015. Send an email to [email protected] with the subject “Artist name – London Concert” so that we know you want to be considered.
  • Bozza will then down-select from all of their artists to make a shortlist of 10 to 20 artists and bands.
  • The great and good from the UK’s marketing industry will then come together, along with Crowdfunder, and work with the select bands to create a global crowdfunding campaign at Plan-It-Day.
  • The crowdfunding campaigns will go live and each artist will have every chance of reaching their total at Do-it-Day.
  • The artists whose crowdfund meets the target needed will be flown over to the UK for a one-off, once in a lifetime, concert in a top venue in London in early 2016.

Whilst all this is taking place on 2nd November in London, Bozza today announced an appeal to African artists, of all genres, to get their work loaded on to the platform so that they can be considered for the final selection.

“This is an incredible opportunity, a potential career defining break, for a group of the continent’s leading musicians.  When I was approached by The Drum, I saw this as a superb chance for the artists on Bozza.  It would be almost impossible for a young African artist to crowdfund a trip to the UK, let alone perform in a concert, but the fact that The Drum are bringing together a team of the leading marketers and brands in the world to create specific campaigns for each artist makes this such a unique and viable opportunity.  My message to artists who are interested is simple – get on to Bozza, load up your video and then let’s see where this thing goes,” Bozza founder, Emma Kaye said.

Do-It-Day will feature a total of 12 projects and will be aspiring to achieve a challenging feat in the unreasonable time-scale of 24 hours and will be calling on the UK marketing industry to supply their hands, their minds, and their tech to turn these challenges into life transforming solutions.

Other challenges include planting a forest in a day, helping children understand the value of money, encouraging young women in Brazil to become micro-entrepreneurs, and taking the taboo out of death.  The day has an incredible list of supporters, including the likes of Visa, Mashable, IBM, Trinity Mirror Group and MTV.
