The entire country is on high alert following the recent bomb blast in the Nyanya area of Abuja which left several people dead and many more injured.

A report was recently made by the US about a possible bomb threat at one of the Sheraton hotels in Lagos and this morning students of the University of Maiduguri in Borno reported an explosion and sporadic gunshots around their campus yesterday night causing panic.

Although details on the attack and the number of casualties are still sketchy, sources say, “the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were detonated by suspected Boko Haram terrorists when invading the city at about 11pm on Friday, but they were however repelled by security operatives which led to the exchange of gunfire.”

Apparently a student of the institution tweeted about the incident  and later reported that the explosion has stopped, other sources corroborated the report.
