Congolese music star Papa Wemba – real names was Jules Shungu Webadio – has died after collapsing on stage in Abidjan in Ivory Coast.
Papa Wemba, who was 66, slumped on the floor as dancers continue to perform, unaware that he had given up the ghost.
He inspired a cult movement known as the Sapeurs whose members, young men, spend huge amounts of money on designer clothes.
Wemba pushed his style of music, Soukous, also known as rumba rock, to become a popular sound across Africa.

In 2013, Wemba was rumoured dead after which he took to Twitter to dispel the rumour.
