Bayelsa election puts Patience Jonathan in a tight corner

Former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, may not be on the same page with governor of Bayelsa state, Seriake Dickson- but she would do everything within her power to make sure he wins his re-election bid.

Why?

Because she’d rather support someone she’s at war with, than lose the state to the All Progressives Congress.

Patience Jonathan, is said to have begun the process of reconciling and mobilising disgruntled members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state to work towards Dickson’s re-election.

She reportedly met with some of the disgruntled former political appointees and politicians of Bayelsa PDP, on Thursday, to formulate a blueprint that will get Dickson reelected.

The meeting, which was held in Otuoke, was attended by the leader and former Commissioner for Local Government, Deacon James Dugo, Director of Publicity, Blessing Kingdom, the Director of Finance, Timi Gbendu, the Director of Women Mobilisation, Mrs. Julie Okenarhe, and the Director of Organisation, Embiowe Tonworitimi.

During the meeting, Patience Jonathan reportedly said that Governor Dickson remained the best candidate in terms of governance and development.

She was said to have informed all those present that they should look beyond her rift with Dickson, as the pertinent issue at hand, was for the PDP to retain control of Bayelsa.

Patience Jonathan, reportedly said that although she was displeased with Dickson, he could be trusted to continue the development of Bayelsa state.
