This is (possibly) the next coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles

The NFF might have finally found the next (foreign) coach of the Super Eagles in Frenchman Paul Le Guen.

According to TheCable, the former Cameroon coach is the favourite to land the job ahead of potential picks such as Goran Stepanovic, Harry Redknapp, Henrique Calisto, Aleksandar Rogic, Felix Magath, Tom Saintfiet, Milutin Sredojevic and Clemens Westerhof.

The website spoke to a top official of the NFF on Wednesday, who said, “Le Guen is right at this moment gaining the upper hand above the less experienced Serbians (Stefanovic, Rogic and Sredovic) earlier favoured for the job.”

Although “screenings and meetings are ongoing” at the moment, the official was quoted to have said that “Paul Le Guen is the front runner and is looking like the candidate that will succeed, all things being equal.”

Le Guen has had a successful managerial career in France, leading Olympique Lyonnais to three back to back Ligue 1 titles.

Apart from being Cameroon’s one time coach, he has also coached Middle East nation, Oman.
