The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers, has condemned the attack on the Local Government Council office of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okrika.

The party said it was saddened by the news while adding that the incident should be investigated and those responsible be brought to justice.

The PDP also described as premature, the statement credited to the APC governorship candidate in the state, Dakuku Peterside, who alleged that PDP supporters were responsible for the action.

In a statement signed by Jerry Needam, media aide to Felix Obuah, the chairman of PDP in Rivers, the police was implored to carry out an extensive investigation into the incident.

The statement also reiterated the party’s commitment to violence free campaigns and free and fair elections.
