PDP group dumps Pres. Jonathan for Buhari

One of the numerous political interest groups campaigning for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election, Mass Movement for Goodluck, has said it would hencefort use its structures to work for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammed Buhari.

The group which was formally received into the APC fold by the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Lawan Shuaibu, at the weekend, said its leadership met after considering the rot in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and decided to shift its support to the APC presidential candidate.

The group’s National Coordinator, Kenneth Ibe-Kalu, said it found out over time that the PDP leadership had become inaccessible stating that one of the frustrating experiences of being a member of the PDP was that young people usually found it difficult to grow or to access leadership opportunities within the party, leadership can only be effective when it is accessible and is also catered for.

“It is evident that the PDP has barricaded itself against the people it intends to lead and have no answers to their survival and future livelihood,” he said.

According to Ibe-Kalu, the group with over three million membership base nationwide and in the diaspora, has decided to transit from being Mass Movement for Goodluck to Mass Movement for Buhari (MMB) and to join forces with the APC campaign train across Nigeria and the diaspora using its unique campaign strategies.

Shuaibu, described the action of the group as very epic and very phenomenal. “In politics, perception is very important.

“The simple fact that a group working for Jonathan has now moved to APC is an addition to the value of our campaign,” he said. He said APC stands a very.bright chance of wining the elections if it is held any time from now.
