‘Some PDP leaders want the party to fail’ || Edwin Clark says GEJ’s surrounded by disloyal people

Ijaw National leader, Edwin Clark, has bemoaned the fact that some national leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, are not fully committed to the second term bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to Clark, many of the people around the president are disloyal to him, and are secretly hoping that the ruling party will fail in the forthcoming general elections.

Edwin Clark, who is a staunch supporter of President Jonathan, aired this opinion in Abuja on Saturday, February 21, while hosting the PDP Aspirants Forum who paid him a courtesy visit.

The purpose of the visit by the forum was to express their disgruntlement with the shoddy manner in which the governorship primaries of the PDP were conducted.

While reacting to their grievances, Clark said he was unhappy with the way the PDP governorship primary was conducted in some states, especially in Adamawa State.

He said: “Everybody was ready to hold the governorship primary in Yola. People were waiting in Yola for the primary and the PDP brought the primary to Abuja overnight, hired people from Nyanya and others. Whereas they held the congresses in Yola, they later resorted to hire people to attend the primary here in Abuja.”

“There is injustice in the party. Some of the national leaders don’t want the party to succeed and they are disloyal to the President. I have asked them to go to their states to campaign, but they refused. They are following the President everywhere. Some of them want the party to fail.”

While pleading with the aggrieved aspirants not to leave the ruling party for the All Progressives Congress, Clark assured them that the party would not forget their efforts, as he implored them to work together to ensure that the party is successful in the polls.
