The Peoples Democratic Party says the outgoing Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, delivered credible elections and brought confidence back into the system.
The party said President Goodluck Jonathan- who appointed Jega and gave him the freedom to do his job- should be praised for the achievements of the former INEC Chairman.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, said this during a telephone interview with Punch Newspapers on Tuesday, June 30.
Metuh said: “He led us to our first defeat. But to be honest, Jega, to an extent, brought confidence to the system. Nobody is perfect but we owe his success and achievements to Jonathan who allowed him to function without interference.”
