Nigeria’s ruling political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said Wednesday that the deadline for aspirants to purchase expression of interest and nomination forms for the party’s primaries will not be extended beyond the stipulated 6 pm, October 30, 2014, date as earlier scheduled.

After a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, in Abuja, Olisa Metuh, the party’s spokesman, told journalists that all aspirants in the party seeking to contest various elective positions in the 2015 general elections must obtain forms before the set deadline.

“No aspirant can obtain forms for our congress and convention 2014 after the deadline, 30th of October. The deadline will not be extended,” he said.
