Segun Oderinde, a pastor, was in the Toyota Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with his wife, brother-in-law and child along the Agege-Abule Egba environs of the state when the accident occurred.

Pastor Oderinde escaped unhurt with other members of the family said to be receiving treatment for minor injuries.

Leadership reports:

In a chat with LEADERSHIP, a visibly shaken Oderinde while recounting the incidence expressed thanks to God for saving him and his family from death, saying they escaped the incidence by whiskers.

According to him, he and others in the vehicle were making their way back home at about 12am from the Murtala Mohammed Airport where they had gone to pick his in-law who had just returned from the United States of America (USA) when the incident occurred.

“We were coming back from the airport when we collided with the train which was coming from the Oko-Oba end of the rail line. As we tried to avoid it, the train crushed some parts of our vehicle and dragged it along the tracks for some metres,” Oderinde said.

He said the other members of the family were currently at a hospital in Lagos where they were being treated for “minor injuries.”
