PHOTO: Army says rescued Chibok girl was married to this man

Hayatu, Boko Haram husbandThe Nigerian army today released photos of Amina Ali Mkeki, whom it says is one of the 219 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014. It also released photos of a man it called her “husband”.

Amina was found in the Kulakeita area of the state in the company of “her Boko Haram husband”, a man identified as Mohammed Hayatu.

She was rescued by members of the local vigilante task force and handed her over to Nigerian troops.

A statement by military spokesperson, Colonel SK Usman said Amina and Hayatu were brought to the military headquarters of the 25th Task Force Brigade Damboa at 2:30pm today.

Amina was found nursing a four month old child named Safiya. Mother and child then went for medical checks the 25 Task Force Brigade headquarters.
