PHOTOS: Home, sweet home as last two Maltina ‘Sharing Happinness’ promo winners pick up their prize

The dream of owning a home is an unattainable one for some, but Maltina made that dream come true in spectacular style for five winners, as they clutched the keys to their new homes in the luxurious Lekki axis of Lagos. As the grand prize of the “Maltina Sharing Happiness Promo”, the last two winners claimed their three-bedroom flat after a nailbiting raffle draw held on June 3, 2012.

The promo which ran from April 2nd to May 25th 2012 saw Maltina reward five consumers with homes in Lagos, and reward hundreds of loyal customers with millions of naira in cash and other fantastic prizes.

The last raffle draw was held on Sunday, 3 June 2012 in Lagos. And the show anchor, Kemi Adetiba set the pace as she picked the fourth winning number on National Television. The number belonged to Reverend Philip Abur, a 57-year-old clergyman who hails from the Tiv area of Benue State. The last winner was Maurice Eze, 24, a youth corps member serving with Ecobank Plc and who just happened to be the first winner from Lagos.

An excited Maurice talked about receiving the call that told him he was a winner. “I was at Shoprite in Lekki with my siblings  that Saturday when I got the call. When the first call came in it wasn’t clear so I had to cut it to move to where the reception was better. When the caller called again, it was a female voice and she said her name is Kemi Adetiba, calling on behalf of Maltina.

“Immediately I heard that the call was from Maltina, it dawned on me that something positive has happen, out of excitement I screamed when I was eventually told I won a three-bedroom apartment in Lekki. I couldn’t wait to finish the shopping and i went home with my siblings to break the news to our parents,” he said.

For Rev. Abur, he wasn’t even expecting the call and was shell-shocked when he received it. “I went for a 2 month summer course at a seminary in Jos when the call came through. I got the call that I had won a house. I was driving out of the school, when it came in. I just give God all the praise,” he said.

Mrs. Ngozi Nkwoji, Senior Brand Manger, Maltina, made the presentation of the new apartment to the lucky winners stressing that Maltina strongly believes in Sharing Happiness to its consumers and would do everything it can to continuously put smiles on their faces.

There was lots of happinness shared when an excited Reverend Abur showed up with his family including the eldest son. Whe he received the keys to the apartment there were prayers and thanksgiving for it was dream come true.

While Maurice Eze in company of the mother and other siblings, felt on top of the world“I have been treated differently, especially in my office. Everyone now accord me some level of respect as a young corper who is also a landlord” he revealed..  He already plans to move immediately into the new apartment from their rented flat in Ajah- lekki in the same axis of Lagos state’ Maurice revealed

About Maltina and the ‘Sharing Happinness’ promo

At the commencement of the promo, Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Yusuf Ageni had given the reason for the promo as the domino effect of the huge success of the 2011 re-launch of Maltina with a new packaging upgrade, new communication and revised positioning which had a positive impact on the brand’s volume, market share and overall equity which also rubbed off on the consumers who shared in the good fortune, smiling home with fantastic prizes.  The success of that year and the yearnings of consumers was what prompted the promo.

The Maltina brand is noted for exploring creative avenues to consistently engage and reward its consumers. One of these creative consumer engagement platforms is the popular and highly rated Maltina Dance All (MDA) TV reality show, a platform for sharing happiness, promoting family values and bonding.

Since it hit the Nigerian market in 1976, Maltina has consistently satisfied its consumers with high quality natural malt drink, fortified with essential vitamins and minerals. It is the first and only malt drink officially endorsed by the Nutrition Society Nigeria.
