The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja has been shut down since Thursday leaving passengers stranded as two major functional domestic airlines, Aero Contractors and Arik Air have cancelled all their flight from Abuja.

Passengers are currently queuing to reschedule their flights from Abuja due to the cancellation of flights by the major airlines.

According to the aviation minister’s spokesman “A Saudi Arabian B747 cargo aircraft landed in Abuja last night and veered off at the manoeuvring area of the runway, ran into a maintenance area of the runway and stopped.” which was the major reason was shut down by the aviation authorities.

  1. It's a pity! But why shouldn't the aviation authority inform the flight from Uyo before it took off. Imagine the plane which had arrived could not land but had to fly back to Uyo. Well, thank God they returned safely. Up Nigeria! We shall get THERE.
