by Azubuike Azikiwe

Earlier today, unknown gunmen killed two policemen guarding a Chinese mining firm at Magama Gumau village in Toro LGA, Bauchi state.

The murdered policemen were stationed at the entrance of the company when they were attacked by the gunmen around 5 am in the morning.

The spokesman of the Bauchi State police command, DSP Haruna Mohammed, said that he was yet to get information on the attack.

“I am yet to get details of the attack, but as soon as I do, I will let you know, please,” he said

Meanwhile, Bauchi state Governor, Isa Yuguda, had earlier ordered the immediate closure of the Chinese mining firm over concerns of health hazards it was causing to communities in Toro local government.

Attacks on police officers around the country have been on a steady increase in recent times, with attacks on officers being reported in Kaduna, Borno, and Edo states.
