There are reports that the former Zamfara state governor, Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima has been escorted out the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria premises in Kaduna.

The former governor was a guest on a Hausa speaking radio programme, Hannu da Yauwa run by the 50-year old radio station.

It is not immediately clear why the senator was escorted out but the police spokesman, DSP Aminu Lawan denied that the lawmaker was arrested.

Lawan refused to disclose the reasons for the police action to the press.

Reports from the online news source SaharaReporters however indicate that the Yerima might have been escorted out by the police because of a threat he allegedly uttered when a caller to the radio programme asked what would be done if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refuses to register the newly formed All Progressives Congress (APC).
