Police recruitment: Applicants will take lie detector test

The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday said it has made compulsory a lie detector test for all successful candidates in its ongoing recruitment exercise.

This was revealed by the Force Spokesman, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Don Awunah on Tuesday.

Awunah said the test would ensure that persons of questionable character do not get recruited into the police force.

According to him, the recruitment process so far has been applauded by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

He also said the equipments will be made available to all police colleges in the country.

The Police Service Commission had recently shortlisted 110, 469 for the aptitude tests.

They were part of the 338,250 candidates who were initially screened.

The 110,469 comprised of 22, 454 for Cadet ASPs, 24, 456 for Cadet Inspectors and 63,559 for Police Constables
