Police to get involved in Boko Haram war

Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase says that the Police will get involved in the eradication of Boko Haram once and for all in the country.

Arase revealed this via a statement issued by the Force Spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, in Abuja on Thursday when a delegation from the U.S. Embassy led by Amb. Daniel Mozena, visited him at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He said: “Our 4,000 operational policemen are working in partnership with the military to end insurgency in the North-East.”

He also revealed that a deputy commissioner of Police had been deployed to the Operations Command Centre in Maiduguri.

Mozena had earlier commended the efforts of the police in their ongoing fight against insurgency offering to help the Force in handling the issue of terror suspects who may lay down their arms.
