It was a landslide victory for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) at the Delta Central Senatorial District elections held yesterday as the party won 263,024 votes as opposed to 29,075 for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and , 29,055 for the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP)

It was an especially big loss for the DPP as the seat in the senate which was the subject of the elction was left vacant by them through the which produced the late Senator Pius Ewherido.

The ruling party, represented by Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, was declared winner of the election today. The new senator was the former helmsman in charge of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
