A 34-year-old pregnant woman identified as Ikhuenbor Joy has been arraigned before a court for beating another pregnant woman, Gift Nkechi, to a coma.
Joy, who is about eight-month pregnant, was said to have bitten Nkechi and punched her severally with her fists.
The effect was so bad that a caesarian session had to be performed on Nkechi to remove her baby.
Joy was arraigned on a two-count charge of assault and causing bodily harm which she pleaded not guilty to.
She was granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 and a surety who must be a house owner and live within the court’s jurisdiction.
