Reports have it that members of the special committee raised by the Presidency to work with the National Assembly to fine-tune the 2016 budget, are still working on the document.

Vanguard reports that the document is still not ready for assent by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The modification efforts being carried out on the documents by the National Assembly, was still ongoing as at Wednesday evening.

Members of the National Assembly committee were asked by the President to remove strange items from the document and restore the votes originally earmarked for other projects and services.

The report further states that the present bone of contention with the budget is how to remove most of the padding from the budget and get the money allocated to them into other uses.
