Assets declaration: 3 things Buhari did not have in December 2014, but now has

Following the assets declaration done by President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice President, it is only imperative that a cursory look is taken into their claims.

Today, we’ll concentrate on the assets of President Muhammadu Buhari, simply because he had declared his assets in a Facebook post in December 2014.

Comparing his assets back then to what he declared on Thursday, there are a few holes and discrepancies here and there.

They differences between then and now, were found in the figure of his bank account, his number of properties as well as his cattle.

DECEMBER 2014

*I have at least one million naira in my bank, having paid N5.5m to pick my form from my party.

*I have around 150 (head of) cattle because I am never comfortable without cows.

*I have a house each in Kaduna, Kano, and Daura, which I borrowed money to build.

SEPTEMBER 2015

  • President Buhari has less than N30 million to his name, with Union Bank.
  • The total number of his holdings in the farm include 270 heads of cattle, 25 sheep, five horses, a variety of birds and a number of economic trees.
  • He has two homes in Kaduna, one each in Kano, Daura and in Abuja. Two mud houses, one of which is in Daura, was inherited from his late older sister and another from his late father. He has two undeveloped plots of land, one in Kano and the other in Port Harcourt and he’s reportedly trying to trace the location of the Port Harcourt land.
