President Muhammadu Buhari was honoured with the CAF platinum award for his ‘contribution to the development and growth’ of the game in the country.
The honour was bestowed on the President at the GLO/CAF awards, currently ongoing at the International Conference center, Abuja.
The award was collected on his behalf by Minister of Youth and Sports; Solomon Dalong.
Also winning awards from the West African region were Ghana and Cameroon.
Charles Kumi Gyamfi of Ghana and Samuel Mbappé Léppé of Cameroon were presented with the African Legend award.
