Pro-Biafra Nigerians expelled from stadium in Senegal

Several Nigerian pro-Biafra agitators were on Saturday, expelled from a football stadium in Senegal for displaying Biafran flags.

The football supporters, clad in T-shirts with the Biafra logo, reportedly invaded the left wing of the covered pavilion to flaunt the Biafran flag alongside that of Nigeria

They were ejected from the stadium minutes after waving the flags at the football match between Nigeria and Algeria at the U-23 African Cup of Nations holding in Dakar, capital city of the West African country.

Officials of the Senegalese Football Federation described the display of the Biafran flags at the Leopold Sedar Senghor stadium as ‘a militant act’.

The Vice President of the FSF, Amadou Kane gave the order to security officials to pull down and tear the Biafran flags and posters.

After the incidence, the FA said the supporters took advantage of the media presence at the stadium to raise the Biafran flag.
