5 products you didn’t know were imported from Pakistan

Pakistan

Last week, the trade between Nigeria and Pakistan hit a $1 billion mark.

The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Nigeria, His Excellency Umer Farooq revealed this at a Defence Day event organised in Abuja last Wednesday.

Considering that Pakistan ‘broke away’ from India years ago, imagine our shock when this was revealed to the public.

So what exactly are the goods we have been buying from Pakistan that led to this?

  1. Furniture

Pakistan prides its furniture products as top export material and of course Nigerian buy only the best.

A quick search on Alibaba express reveals quite a number of made in Pakistan home furniture items like this one.

If you are a sports fan, then you’ve definitely seen this on a pitch before. FIFA even got the 2014 World Cup footballs from Pakistan so they are that good.

3. Electrical appliances

4. Phone cases

5. Security equipment

One of Pakistan’s major exports is security equipment. While it’s not clear which of them we’ve been importing, Pakistan has been paying a little too much attention to Nigeria’s security developments lately.

Just last month, Lieutenant General Najib Ullah Khan Hi, the Pakistani Chief of defence paid our IGP a visit.
