by S’ola Filani

Riots immediately broke out in Kano after former CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi emerged the new Emir.

The protest started at the Kofar Kudu area, near the Emir’s palace when residents of the neighbouring streets trooped out to express their opposition to Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s choice.

ThisDay reports that the road to Government House, Kano, from former Silver Jubilee round-about was been blocked by irate youths with motorists compelled to attach leaves to their car windscreens in solidarity with the protesters.

Security forces have been mobilised to disperse the rioting crowd and the situation has been put under control.
