ORGANISATION OVERVIEW

Red Media Africa is a leading media content and communication company based in Lagos and London and operates across Africa with a focus on an evolving generation across the continent. It has worked with public sector in communicating their product and services to their target audience across the country.

It is recruiting in four positions.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE

Position Summary

  1. ACCOUNTING
    1. Oversee all functions related to proper accounting and book-keeping.
    2. Treasury Management
      •           i. Monitor and disbursement of daily cash flows for all units – requires regular, inter-departmental interface.
      •           ii. Support the Directors in regular cash flow updates
    3. Preparation of monthly payroll
    4. Any other task as may be assigned by the Directors.
  2. ADMINISTRATION
    1. Schedule meetings, managing work product and deadlines of his/ her subordinates.
    2. Answer interoffice queries and communicating all operational data to management section.
    3. Provide support to other departments of the organization and organizes projects of the company.
    4. Review office budget and managing office expenditure.
    5. Analyze the attendance and regularity of the working staff of the organization.
    6. Arrange travel, meetings and appointments
    7. Order stationery, office equipment and furniture.
    8. Organize office maintenance and repair
    9. Supervise and monitoring the work of supporting staff.
    10. Report to management to review office performance.
    11. Review and updating the company’s health and safety policy.
    12. Manage and handling of external correspondence.
    13. Keep up-to-date files of each staff.
    14. Act as liaison officer between the management and the staff.
    15. Any other task as may be assigned by the Directors.

REQUIREMENT:

Education & Experience:  4 years administration experience including filing, editing, tracking data and maintaining data.

SKILLS:

  1. 4 years experience developing and editing content in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  2. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  3. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  4. Ability to communicate to all employees at all levels with tact and diplomacy
  5. Demonstrated ability to take initiative with a results and customer focused attitude
  6. Working knowledge of faxes and photocopiers.

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSOCIATE

Position Summary

Accomplishes Human Resource objectives by obtaining, recording, forwarding, and explaining Human Resource information.

Human Resources Associate Job Duties:

  • Provides information by answering communications; referring special communications to appropriate person.
  • Obtains and orients temporary help by forwarding requirements and criteria to temporary services; providing information and directions.
  • Maintains human resources records by maintaining applications, résumés, and applicant logs.
  • Verifies candidates background by contacting references.
  • Enrolls new employees by issuing forms and applications; verifying completion.
  • Helps employees by explaining benefit programs.
  • Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
  • Maintains manager and employee confidence by keeping human resources information confidential.

OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE

Position Summary

An Operations Associate performs administrative, reconciliation and customer service duties. They work with clients by answering their queries and giving account updates. They also review merchandise and fill customer orders. Among reconciliation functions, they may do record keeping, and reconciling bank accounts and wire transfers.

FRONT DESK OFFICER

Position Summary

A front desk office serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; notifies company personnel of visitor arrival; maintains security and telecommunications system.

Front Desk Primary Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories; giving instructions.
  • Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook; issuing visitor badges.
  • Maintains telecommunication system by following manufacturer’s instructions for house phone and console operation.
  • Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

FINANCE ASSOCIATE

Position Summary

To maintain accounting records for Red Media Africa’s operations in accordance with Red Media Africa’s polices and procedures; prepare internal and external financial reports; assist in budgeting processes; and oversee account payables and receivables.

The Associate will play a key role in Red Media Africa, working directly with the Chief Executive Officer to build a strong and vibrant business. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with the dedicated and passionate Red Media Africa team.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Managing all accounting functions, including cash management, general ledger, inventory, disbursements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Ensuring that all transactions are recorded on time, accurately, and with proper documentation (along with support documents), have the required authorization, and are made in accordance with Solar Sister policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Ensuring all financial records are filed in a safe and secure manner.
  • Preparing internal and external accounting reports, including but not limited to reconciliations, profits & losses, balance sheets, and budget versus spends.
  • Assisting in the development of sound internal controls and monitor their implementation.
  • Assisting in budget development.
  • Fulfilling audit documentation requests by Management.
  • Any other duties assigned by Management other duties as required.

Requirement:

  • Graduate level degree in finance, accounting or business.
  • 1 year of professional accounting/finance experience.
  • Part qualified accountant with ACCA/CIMA or some other recognized professional body.
  • Experience in developing budgets and financial reports, strategic planning, and providing guidance and support to non-finance staff.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer, internet and social media literacy.
  • Strong bookkeeping, QuickBooks, and Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong business acumen and commitment to results.
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in written English. Candidates with knowledge of additional local languages should note those on their application.
