The State Security Service (SSS) announced this evening in Borno state today thatit has arrested Abul-Qaqa who is spokesman of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnati Lidda’awati Wal Jihad (Boko Haram), the sect that has taken the lives of over 1000 Nigerians, especially in the country’s north.

According to the Daily Trust, “senior official of the SSS who does not want his name in print confirmed that Qaqa was arrested in Maiduguri on Tuesday.

“Another officer of the SSS said the chief spokesman was tracked through the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology.”

However, the agency’s spokesperson, Maryln Ogar, told Premium Times Wednesday night she was not aware of any such arrest, according to the online journal.

“I don’t know where they got the information that the guy was arrested,” Ms Ogar said. “The truth is we don’t have him. I don’t have any such information that he was arrested.”
