BREAKING Report: SSS re-arrests Boko Haram suspect Kabir Sokoto (Arrest Photo Inside)

by Hauwa Gambo

There are reports that the State Security Service has re-arrested Kabir Sokoto, the prime major suspect of the Christmas Day bombing in Niger State, who had escaped from an Abuja prison earlier this year.

A member of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, he had first been arrested at the Borno Government House for the fatal attack on St. Theresa’s Catholic church.

His escape and the subsequent ultimatum given to the former Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, led to the latter’s sack.

According to the reports, Presidency sources confirmed Sokoto was apprehended this morning by officers of the secret service.

YNaija has yet to confirm this report directly from the SSS spokesperson as calls to her number have not been answered. More details as they emerge.

UPDATE: Presidential spokesman Reuben Abati has confirmed that Sokoto arrested in Taraba state, which borders Cameroon.

  1. This is a welcome news! I must say the SSS really have been in their game this week. What with the 'discovered' armoury, and now Sokoto has been nabbed again( hopefully ) for good. Hmmm it seems to me a little birdie- Qaqa- is doing quite some singing!

    *sealed lips* …I'm out!
