An unnamed aide to Kaduna governor, Patrick Yakowa, has just confirmed his death in a helicopter crash early this evening to international news agency, Reuters.
According to the agency, “the governor of Nigeria’s Kaduna state, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, was killed on Saturday when his helicopter crashed in the southerly oil-producing Bayelsa state, an aide to the politician told Reuters.
“An aide to Yakowa who asked not to be named said Yakowa had been killed in the crash.”
The Bayelsa police spokesman, Fidelis Odunna has also confirmed the crashed in Ogbia Creek, minutes away from Okoroba, venue of the burial the governor and other dignitaries had attended.
There are no other confirmed details on casualties.
