Retirement package: Joseph Yobo gets political appointment from Governor Wike

Former Super Eagles Captain, Joseph Yobo, has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on Sports Development to Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike.

A statement was released to this effect by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media.

Yobo recently commemorated his exit from the Nigerian national team with a testimonial match tagged ‘The Joseph Yobo Centenary Game’.

The testimonial game was graced by his other retired colleagues such as Samuel Eto’o, Austin Jay Jay Okocha and many others.

Governor Wike also appointed Chibuzor Aholu as Senior Special Assistant to the governor on financial matters.

The appointments are expected to take effect immediately.
