If you’ve worked with the Nigeria Television Authority, or you’re a keen watcher of NTA’s iconic Newsline, then you know the reporter Sele Eradiri. In terms of global comparisons, she brings to mind America’s tough-as-nails Andrea Mitchel – Eradiri always followed a story to the end; no question too tough to ask, no answer too tough for her to follow-up.
The broadcaster is said to have passed this morning at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. She had been ill for a few months and had just returned from India, where she had gone for medical attention. She was aged 57.
She was a role model for many young women who do amazing jobs in journalism without having the spotlight on them. Colleagues will remember her as a teacher, a mentor, and one for whom no one was too small to be treated with kindness – and she will be missed.
May her soul rest in peace.
May her soul rest in peace Amen.
May her soul rest in peace, amen.
