Sad: Ex-Director of Pensions killed by gunmen in Edo

Some gunmen suspected to be hired assassins, have killed a former Director of pensions in Edo State, Friday Ewansigha.

He was shot dead at his Evbuotubu residence in Egor Local Government area of the state.

The late Ewansigha, aged 56, was the director in charge of conveying state executive council meeting before his death.

According to The Nation report:

He was said to have been shot on December 13 but died two weeks later at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.

Family sources said Friday was shot while trying to find out why his generator suddenly went off.

The source said the killers disconnected the generator to draw their subject out.

Governor Adams Oshimhole and his cabinet members held a minute silence for the slain director at Monday’s state executive council meeting.

Oshiomhole, who described the late director as a dedicated worker said the killers will be arrested.

He said, “The late director was a dedicated man. He was dedicated to his duty and we will surely miss him.

“The police are already investigating and we will do our best to get the killers and bring them to justice.”
