Saraki donates N5 million to victims of Kano fire

In a show of good faith, Senate President Bukola Saraki has given N5 million to the victims of the fire which recently raged at Sabon Gari market in Kano state.

The donation was announced by Senator Kabiru Gaya, Chairman, Senate committee on Works when he paid a sympathy visit to Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje on Wednesday, March 30.

Gaya, who is also the senator representing Kano South Senatorial District stated that the effects of the fire would no doubt be negative on the lives of the victims.

“The Senate president was so much worried and concerned about the unfortunate incident; this is the reason why he asked me to represent him to bring the donation.”

“We, the three senators from the state, will also sponsor a motion on the floor of the house for the urgent assistance of the Federal Government to victims of the disaster.”

Furthermore, Gaya commended Saraki for the kind gesture and promised that the donation would be put to use prudently for the purpose for which it was given.

The senator praised the steps of the government in ensuring that business activities return to the market as soon as possible as well as the assistance provided to the victims of the fire.
