Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has said Nigerians will only get uninterrupted power supply when contractors start executing power contracts properly.
The minister, who spoke to journalists at the end of the second edition of the National Council on Power, also said epileptic power supply would persist, unless hoodlums stopped vandalising gas pipelines.
Fashola also stated that host communities of electricity assets must also make sacrifices so that the nation could benefit.
In the same vein, the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, advocated for the overhaul of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission.
According to him, it will ensure viable power supply in the country.
El-Rufai lamented the poor regulatory policy framework in the power sector, noting that currently, the distribution companies were struggling under huge debts.
