When you are a public figure, everyone automatically pays attention to every detail of what you have got on – including the minute thing but we bet Senator Musiliu Obanikoro doesn’t know that.
On Thursday, the Senator looked odd at an official meeting – a joint delegation of UNOWA (United Nations for West Africa) and the UNOCA (United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa) which held at the presidential villa.
In attendance were special Representatives of the UN Secretary-General for West Africa and Central Africa, Mohammed Ibn Chambas and Abdoulaye Bathily and head of the Nigerian delegation President Jonathan.
You still don’t figure out what’s wrong with Obanikoro’s dressing (in the photo above), now see below.
While the notable men who knew they were coming for an official meeting wore smart shoes, our very own Minister of State II, Foreign Affairs, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro wore a Birkenstock slippers.

He possibly had an athletic foot to deal with! Lol
Practically, what is wrong in wearing a palm slippers on a native outfit? What part of Yoruba culture stipulates that Buba and Sokoto must always go with a shoe? If a Scottish man was there in his skirt or the Zulu king in his native outfit, will that make your news too? I have seen people who speak English language fluently but void of wisdom,if it is about shoes kindly complain when he wear a palm slippers on a Suit.
