In spite of stiff opposition, Senate approves Edo state’s $75m World Bank loan

The state governed by Adams Oshiomhole, is now eligible for a $75 million World Bank for Edo state.

On Thursday, August 13, the Senate approved the request of President Muhammadu Buhari for the loan for Edo state.

A decision was arrived at, after considering the report of the Senator Kabiru Gaya-led ad-hoc committee.

In spite of stiff opposition by Senator Mathew Urhoghide of the Peoples Democratic Party member, the Senate approved the loan.
