Fast food sure takes a long time to fall apart.

That’s the verdict of a Utah man who discovered his 1999 McDonald’s hamburger looks exactly the same today as it did the day he bought it.

David Whipple told Paramount CBS TV show “The Doctors” he initially saved the sandwich to show friends how preservatives and enzymes worked in keeping junk food looking good.

But he then forgot about the burger — dubbed by some as the “World’s Oldest” — for several years.

It was only when he re-found it – in the original paper sack with its receipt in the trunk of his car — that he realized it was in the same condition as when it was first served.

For some reason, the burger has not gotten moldy or decayed for 14 years.

“We pulled it out and said. “Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it looks the same way,” said the Logan resident.

The TV show’s hosts analysed the burger and were left stunned by the fact it had not signs of mold, fungus or even a strange smell.

Whipple said he now uses the burger to encourage his grandchildren to eat healthily.
