Mugshots are not meant to be flattering and that’s why even celebrities like Justin Bieber and Lindsay Lohan looked terrible in their arrest photos.
However, this rule apparently doesn’t apply to 28-year-old Meagan Simmons whose mugshot has gone viral and earned her admirers and followers on social media networks.
Simmons was arrested on drunk driving charges and the photo that was taken when she was being booked has earned her the nickname “Hot convict”

A US drink driver whose stunning good looks created an internet frenzy is suing a company who she claims used her mugshot in their ads. Meagan Simmons, 28, was pulled in on drink-drive charges in 2010, but her smoldering good looks sparked even bigger headlines.
The woman dubbed the “hot convict” initially revelled in the publicity which resulted from her new army of admirers and even considered posing for Playboy magazine. But she claims web info company InstantCheckmate.com, which performs criminal background checks, used the picture in an advert without her permission.
The ads featured her now famous mugshot alongside messages with the theme that “looks can be deceptive.” But Simmons, who was working as a waitress at the time she was charged, claims use of the image has invaded her privacy and disturbed her peace of mind.
She now has a following of admirers on both her Twitter and Instagram accounts.
