News on the grapevine has it that Nigerian actress, Mercy Johnson Okojie, has been blacklisted by the Nollywood Movie Marketers Association.

According to reports, the Nollywood diva has attracted the wrath of the marketers over the supposedly exorbitant fees she requires before featuring in a movie.

Before the ban, Mercy Johnson-Okojie reportedly held the spot for the highest paid actress in the industry with her fees said to range from  N1.8million to N2m per movie.

The last time a similar incident was recorded was the notorious blacklisting of A-list Nollywood stars such as Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, among others, also over alleged exorbitant fees being demanded sometime in 2011.

The ban will reportedly take effect after the actress has fulfilled all current contracts.
